Immagine inviatami da mio nipote Federico. Io l'ho solo convertita in bianco e nero e eseguito qualche ritocco di maquillage in pp. Questa versione la ritengo più efficace che quella a colori. Sullo sfondo si ammira l'imponente piramide del Machapuchare 6993 m., la montagna sacra dei nepalesi. Mai conquistata ufficialmente perchè il governo nepalese non concede autorizzazioni per la salita. Machapucare significa "Coda di pesce" per le due vette che compongono la parte sommitale di questa magnifica piramide e ricordano appunto la coda si un pesce. Alle spalle del fotografo si erge l'impressionante parete sud dell'Annapurna, uno dei massimi traguardi che un alpinista possa ambire per difficolta e salita su roccia e ghiaccio con tratti verticali per uno sviluppo dalla base di quasi 4000 m.. L'Annapurna è considerato il più impegnativo dei 14 ottomila per la sua pericolosità (valanghe e scariche di sassi) e difficoltà tecniche. Paradossalmente è il decimo ottomila (8091 m.) e il primo ottomila ad essere conquistato nel 1950, da una spedizione francese. Ma gode di triste fama per numero di vittime elevatissimo.
