Delizioso borgo medievale situato nel cuore dei famosi vigneti di Bordeaux, Saint-Emilion è unica nel suo genere per l'importanza delle sue proprietà vinicole, la qualità dei suoi vini e la maestosità della sua architettura e dei suoi monumenti. Situata a 40 minuti da Bordeaux e ricca di storia, appollaiata su un promontorio roccioso, Saint-Emilion e i suoi vigneti traggono la loro originalità dalla pietra calcarea che ne ha plasmato l'identità. Nel 1999, e per la prima volta al mondo, le vigne di Saint-Emilion furono dichiarate Patrimonio Mondiale dell'Umanità dall'UNESCO, che considera Saint-Emilion "un notevole esempio di paesaggio viticolo storico rimasto intatto" e che continua la sua attività anche oggi.
