Situato su una collina che domina l'ampia valle della Thièle, il castello di Champvent è una delle fortezze del Canton de Vaud che hanno conservato più puramente il loro carattere medievale. L'attuale costruzione comprende solo il castello a quattro torri eretto intorno all'anno 1250. Il castello trincerato comprende un recinto rettangolare fiancheggiato da torri rotonde, una delle quali trasformata in prigione. All'interno, il muro perimetrale racchiude un cortile centrale. La porta, trasformata in seguito, era difesa da un bovindo sormontato da merli. Nel tempo, l'interno degli edifici è stato più volte ridisegnato e quindi adattato al gusto e allo stile di vita delle diverse epoche.
