La Basilica di Santa Croce è il secondo edificio religioso più grande di Firenze, dopo il Duomo, con i suoi 115 metri di lunghezza e 38 metri di larghezza, è la chiesa francescana più grande del mondo, considerata il pantheon di Firenze, accogliendo quasi 300 tombe, fra cui quella di Michelangelo, di Galileo e di Machiavelli.
