Cereseto è un piccolo Comune del Monferrato Casalese di poco più di 400 abitanti. In dialetto piemontese le ciliegie vengono chiamate “cerese” e non a caso a Cereseto gli alberi di ciliegio sono di casa, come le vigne e i girasoli. La quiete e il buon vivere caratterizzano le sue contrade, ma la sua notorietà in zona è però dovuta al suo castello. L'aspetto così particolare rende inconfondibile il profilo della collina sulla quale sorge e, quando ci si avvicina al paesello dal fondo valle e lo si vede improvvisamente spuntare, quello che si materializza davanti a sé è un castello che pare uscire direttamente da una fiaba. Benché gli interni del castello non siano visitabili, merita comunque la pena prendersi il tempo per andare a vederlo e fotografarne la maestosa bellezza, magari in occasione della “Festa delle ciliegie” che si tiene ogni anno, nel mese di giugno.
