Sala Monferrato è un paesino del Monferrato casalese di 342 abitanti. È immerso in un paesaggio collinare di grande fascino, vi si respira aria buona, non si odono quasi del tutto rumori, la gente è cordiale, da viverci insomma. Inoltre, a Sala si mangia e si beve bene, ottimi i suoi vini - che erano consumati alla corte dei Gonzaga, duchi di Mantova e del Monferrato - e prelibata la sua “Muletta”, un salame crudo a lunga stagionatura da abbinare con il pane appena cotto nel forno a legna.
