Sala Carbonaia è una piccola chiesa sconsacrata, la sua architettura barocca di chiesa seicentesca, insieme al caratteristico colore nero assunto dalle pareti nel periodo in cui fu adibita a magazzino per il rimessaggio del carbone, la rendono veramente un luogo unico. L'antica tradizione dei maestri cartapestai della città del Carnevale rivive nella rappresentazione allestita in uno scenario unico, la chiesa sconsacrata dei Carbonai, nel periodo di carnevale 2020 vi fu allestito il presepe di cartapesta dei maestri cartapestai della città del Carnevale di Foiano della Chiana, oggi esposto in paese per il Natale.
