Christiania, ufficialmente Città Libera di Christiania (in danese "Fristaden Christiania"), è un quartiere nel cuore di Copenhagen che si è auto proclamato autonomo, abitato da circa 850 residenti ma che ogni anno ospita oltre un milione di turisti e curiosi. Copre 34 ettari di terreno e la sua storia è piuttosto travagliata: il quartiere fu fonte di polemiche fin dalla sua creazione avvenuta nel 1971, quando un gruppo di hippy occupò una base navale dismessa alle porte della capitale danese ripulendone le strutture, rendendole abitabili, e curando gli spazi verdi. Qui, il commercio di cannabis è tollerato dalle autorità. La marijuana era ed è rimasta il "collante" di questa comunità: varcando la porta principale del villaggio è forte ed intenso l'odore dell'erba. La prima e unica vera legge è "Niente foto". E' ripetuto a gran voce ed è disegnato, con segnali inequivocabili, sui muri ed in ogni colonnina: le macchine fotografiche sono bandite e devono essere rigorosamente riposte negli zaini; gli smartphones devono sempre essere tenuti paralleli al suolo e non "perpendicolari" come nell'atto di scattare foto. Gli "angeli custodi" che fanno da "pali" e "controllori" hanno mille occhi e non si... scappa. Malgrado ciò, o forse, proprio per tutto ciò è sicuramente una meta turistica tra le più originali e gettonate della Danimarca. Più di questo (una delle porte di accesso laterali) non sono riuscito a fotografare anche se c'era tantissima "carne" da poter mettere al... fuoco.
