Questa è una scansione da fotogramma Kodachrome Duplicating 5071 esposta a suo tempo (1990!!!) alla sensibilità di 50 Asa e sviluppata come negativo (cross processing). A differenza delle altre scansioni, su questo fotogramma NON ho praticato l'inversione dei colori, ma ne ho solo esaltato leggermente il contrasto e la resa tonale e cromatica. Scatto originale con Yashica FXD Quartz e Yashica ML 55 mm. Macro f. 2,8

La spiegazione è molto semplice: sinteticamente, ai tempi dell'analogico si poteva fare qualche elaborazione in proprio solo in camera oscura col bianco&nero, variando tipo e gradienti di carta, filtri, esposizione, "solarizzazione", ecc. (una specie di post produzione ante litteram ;-)); con il colore era un po' più complicato fare di questi esperimenti, sopratutto per via del fatto che era molto complicato sviluppare i rullini in casa, e peggio ancora, stampare a colori.
La via più breve per sperimentare cose nuove era il "cross processing", ovvero sviluppare un rullino negativo nel processo chimico per le pellicole positive (poco usato, per ottenere delle diapositive a basso contrasto) o sviluppare un rullino di diapositive nel processo chimico per le pellicole negative (ottenendo dei negativi ad alto contrasto).
Questi processi di sviluppo restituivano effetti diversi in relazione al tipo di pellicola utilizzata e, pur con la stessa pellicola, risultati diversi anche a seconda del "tiraggio" dell'esposizione (es.: una pellicola della sensibilità nominale di 100 Asa (Iso) poteva essere "tirata" a 200 o a 400 Asa, o anche sovraesposta a 50 o 25 Asa, ma l'importante era avvisare il laboratorio di sviluppo che così poteva apportare le relative modifiche ai tempi di passaggio della pellicola nei diversi bagni di sviluppo).
Ovviamente gli effetti non erano esattamente standardizzati ragion per cui non si poteva essere matematicamente certi dei risultati, anche a parità di pellicola e di condizioni di uso, ma questo procedimento garantiva comunque degli effetti inusitati, spesso gradevoli, ed erano l'unica possibilità di intervento "creativo" su foto a colori... se poi si poteva avere accesso al laboratorio di stampa dove c'era l'amico disposto a perdere un po' di tempo con te, allora si potevano fare una miriade di esperimenti (tutti a pagamento beninteso!!!MrGreen).
Un'altra pratica era quella di chiedere al laboratorio di modificare arbitrariamente i tempi e/o le temperature dei bagni di sviluppo di una pellicola negativa a colori... anche in questo caso si potevano ottenere risultati, a volte, degni di nota (ma non sempre MrGreen)... se mi capitano tra le mani, pubblicherò qualche cosa di questo generei, dove il fotogramma presenta colori slittati, strani, opposti, rispetto ad un contesto "normale".
Questo era, in sintesi, lo stato dell'arte all'epoca, per chi, tra i fotoamatori, voleva provare a fare qualche sperimentazione.
Oggi, invece, col digitale si può fare di tutto e di più e sto cominciando ad accorgermene pure io che sto iniziando la pratica della PP con Photoshop, con Gimp e con RawTherapee (ma ancora non ci capisco un tubo... di prolunga MrGreen)
Negli anni '80 (e concludo!) io e i miei amici ci rammaricavamo di non poter togliere da una diapositiva i fili della luce che guastavano un paesaggio, o la lattina di bibita che era un pugno in un occhio in uno scorcio urbano, o le cartacce e la monnezza adiacente un'opera architettonica, o qualsiasi altro elemento di disturbo che viziava una foto e che non poteva essere rimosso; oggi, invece, con un po' di pratica con le app di image editing, si può almeno riuscire a togliere o a mitigare questo tipo di disturbi...

As far as this photo is concerned, the effect created in analog 30 years ago is exactly what I published, slightly enhancing the contrast and tonal and chromatic rendering in pp, after scanning. ;-)
