Il film “Il Gladiatore”, diretto da Ridley Scott, è tra le pellicole che più hanno saputo conquistare il pubblico italiano ma non solo, visto il successo che ha pure avuto a livello internazionale. Tra i posti in cui sono state girate le varie scene vi è quello ritratto in foto: il podere di Poggio Manzuoli, che si trova nel Comune di San Quirico d'Orcia, e che nel film è la casa di Massimo Decimo Meridio, il protagonista, impersonato da Russell Crowe.
