The bendy boot is one, maybe the most important symbol of the "yörük" and "zeybek" culture in western and southwestern regions of Turkey. This symbol means masculinity, strength and many times status. The bends ease the slip on and slip off the boots. Also, bends ease the mounting/dismounting the horse. Nowadays, there are just several makers but some people demand bendy boots as nostalgic accessories. Mustafa Karpuzcu is the maker living in Ku&scedil;adası/Turkey and provides bendy boots just on orders.
