Questa e' la fontana Pretoria di F.Camilliani Firenze 1554 portata successivamenta da Firenza a Palermo nel 1581. Nasce come fontana per il giardino di Luigi Alvarez de Toledo y Osorio. Nel 1573 grazie al fratello Garcia Alvarez fratello del Luigi e ex vicere di Sicilia che grazie alle sue conoscenze intercede alla vendita al senato palermitano per necessita' di fondi. La fontana viene posta nella piazza del Pretorio dove appunto vi e' palazzo Pretorio e risistemata da c. Camilliani e M.Naccherino nel 1581 Con modifiche legate ala ricollocazione e con la perdita di alcune statue danneggiate durante il trasferimento.
