Uno dei spettacoli meravigliosi al quale si può assistere in Costa Rica è la nidificazione di massa delle tartarughe Olivacee. Durante la stagione delle piogge da luglio a dicembre solitamente durante l'ultimo quarto di luna ogni mese;le tartarughe appartenenti a questa specie danno vita a uno dei spettacoli più belli che la natura possa offrire. Migliaia di esemplari di questa specie di tartaruga iniziano la "Arribadas "ovvero una nidificazione sincronizzata di massa che dura dai tre ai sei giorni, questo avviene solo in pochissime spiagge al mondo e il Costa Rica possiede due di queste spiagge, Playa Ostional e Playa Nancite
