Il Santuario risale al Seicento, contiene un dipinto che raffigura la Madonna mentre allatta il Bambino che si dice sia stato dipinto miracolosamente, in quanto il volto della Madonna è di un livello pittorico ben superiore a quello del modesto pittore cui era stato affidato e che si sarebbe addormentato per trovare il dipinto già terminato al suo risveglio. Accanto alla chiesa sorge il convento, tornato dopo il periodo napoleonico (nel quale era stato trasformato in una filanda) ai Frati Carmelitani Scalzi.
