Casere di Predoi/Kasern, Valle Aurina/Ahrntal ... aprile 2018 ... La deliziosa cappella del Santo Spirito sorge isolata ai 1631 metri del Pratomagno di Predoi, in vista delle altissime cime che chiudono la testa ed i lati dell'alta Valle Aurina. Oggi nota per essere l'edificio di culto più a nord del territorio nazionale, oltrechè per l'idilliaco scenario di monti e foreste che la contornano, la chiesa aveva in passato compiti e funzioni ben più severi! La sua costruzione, nel tardo medioevo, era finalizzata alla rapida sepoltura dei tanti lavoratori che trovavano la morte nelle vicine miniere di rame sulle quali si basava l'economia dell'intera vallata, ovvero al ristoro e al rifugio dei molti mercanti e viandanti che attraverso l'impervio passo dei Tauri svolgevano i loro traffici tra la Val Pusteria e le confinarie valli austriache ...
