Recupero da dia. Luglio 1982. La qualità è scadente considerata la vetustà del supporto. La parete nord della Marmolada si conclude a punta Penia. E' una classica dell'alpinismo su ghiaccio, anche se negli ultimi anni il collegamento glaciale fra la base e la vetta, è diventato sempre più esiguo ed è anche la meta di numerosi sci-alpinisti amanti del ripido. Il periodo ideale per affrontare la salita è quello tardo-primaverile, quando è ancora presente un buon innevamento che permette di affrontarla senza particolari difficoltà, ma ovviamente bisogna prestare molta attenzione alle possibili valanghe. A stagione avanzata, o in condizioni di scarso innevamento, le difficoltà sono decisamente superiori a quelle riportate in scheda e il ripido scivolo medio/superiore diventa di roccia o misto, con difficoltà anche elevate.
