Sono i primi anni 60 quando tra Modena e Reggio Emilia Beppe Carletti e Augusto Daolio decidono di formare una loro band. L'esordio avviene nel 1963 e il nome scelto e? Nomadi, denominazione scelta un po' per caso ma forse anche per destino. Nel 1965 esce il loro primo 45 giri dal titolo Donna la prima donna e un anno dopo inizia la collaborazione con un allora sconosciuto Francesco Guccini. Da questo sodalizio nascono canzoni che segneranno una tappa fondamentale nel panorama musicale italiano: Noi non ci saremo e Dio e? morto, diventeranno dei veri e propri stendardi per milioni di giovani. E nel 72 Io Vagabondo ancora oggi canzone simbolo della band e inno per diverse generazioni. Da questo momento inizia la scalata: partecipazioni televisive, presenza alle manifestazioni canore e numerosi lavori discografici che porteranno la band ad avere un riconoscimento ufficiale da parte di critica e pubblico. Il lavoro dei Nomadi non si arresta negli anni nonostante le diverse sostituzioni all'interno del gruppo, ma al contrario riescono a rinnovarsi, modernizzarsi e trarre linfa musicale da ogni nuovo componente. Sono passati 54 anni ma loro sono ancora li?: 90 concerti all'anno in tutta la Penisola con una media annuale di 1.000.000 di spettatori che comprendono bambini, genitori e nonni, creando cosi? quello che si puo? definire il “popolo nomade”. Inoltre la band ha assunto anche la nomina di gruppo piu? longevo in Italia e prima di loro solo i Rolling Stone.
