La Villa Il complesso urbanistico della villa e del podere di Alessandro Rossi a Santorso, ora comproprietà dei comuni di Schio e di Santorso, costituisce un singolare episodio della storia dell'architettura veneta del secondo ottocento, frutto della collaborazione tra potere industriale scledense di Alessandro Rossi e l'architetto vicentino Antonio Caregaro Negrin. Nel 1862 Alessandro Rossi aveva iniziato l'ampliamento della sua azienda tessile che avrebbe avuto tra il 1870 e il 1880 il massimo sviluppo con la creazione dei quartieri operai di Schio e di Piovene-Rocchette. Il 28 Marzo 1865 il Rossi acquistò dalla famiglia Prosdocimi l'antica villa Bonifacio-Velo di Santorso con l'annessa chiesetta di Santo Spirito e gran parte dei terreni circostanti per farne un'oasi di pace per la sua famiglia e per creare un “Podere Modello “ con i più avanzati sistemi di produzione agricola. Ad attuare il vasto complesso della villa e del podere modello l'architetto Antonio Caregaro Negrin rimane impegnato per circa vent'anni (1865-1884) dispiegando in originali architetture il suo linguaggio eclettico. www.comune.santorso.vi.it
