Paragone sicuramente un po' azzardato :-) ma è l'impressione che mi dà ogni volta che la osservo, soprattutto quando il mare è mosso. Isola delle Correnti, questo il suo nome. È collegata alla terraferma tramite un braccio artificiale, che le onde del mare ciclicamente distruggono. Quando la bassa marea trasforma l'isola in una penisola, essa rappresenta l'estremo punto meridionale d'Europa. Fa impressione pensare che sia leggermente più a Sud di Tunisi. Al suo interno si erge un faro, dove decenni fa alloggiava il farista con la sua famiglia. Sull'isolotto cresce poca flora, ma vi abbondano piantine di porro selvatico, capperi e altri arbusti tipici della macchia mediterranea. Questo piccolo angolo di Sicilia mi affascina molto anche perché accoglie due importanti mari, il Mediterraneo e lo Ionio che in questa foto prevale sul primo entrando di prepotenza sospinto da un fortissimo vento. Qui la mia pazienza è stata premiata, perché il Sole faceva i capricci e giocava troppo spesso a nascondino, ma ho voluto attendere lo stesso.
