Andando da Martina Franca a Mottola, percorrendo strade di campagna, ho incontrato questi due bellissimi esemplari di cavalli in libertà in una masseria molto grande. Mi dicono che si tratta di cavalli di razza Murgese, eccone le caratteristiche:Il Murgese è una razza equina italiana. È originario delle Murge, una regione geografica della Puglia, da cui deriva il nome. Si tratta di un territorio inospitale, che ha trasmesso a questa razza una grande rusticità. L'abitudine a percorrere sentieri ripidi e rocciosi ha fatto sì che nel tempo questo animale sviluppasse arti robusti e zoccoli molto solidi, adatti per muoversi velocemente e con grande sicurezza nonostante la corporatura massiccia.
