Because some concerns that were told to me, I want to make some clarifications:

At that point, I got up slowly, I raised the tripod and I moved to a distance of about 8-9 meters, where I stopped to pick up a backpack that I had placed on the ground. The nightjar is left in place without taking flight.
3) Even if there will not be need for transparency and fairness put at the disposal of the moderators of this forum Raw files to verify the room date (exif).
To conclude, I believe it is the excessive proximity to disturb a subject (if this can be reached in the right way, at the right time and in the absolute silence). You can do more mess to 5-6 meters, breaking a dry branch or rubbing against a tripod bush ... all things that I had to avoid making ;-)

Causa alcune perplessità che mi sono state riferite, ci tengo a fare alcune precisazioni:
1) Durante l'avvicinamento, il soggetto non è stato disturbato o, almeno, non ha mostrato segni di nervosismo;
ho tenuto circa 40 scatti che ritraggono il soggetto nella medesima posizione a partire da una distanza di 4 metri a 1 metro. Il succiacapre non si è mosso di un solo centimetro.
Essendo praticamente a fotogramma pieno e, non volendo arrecare ulteriore "disturbo" al soggetto, non ho ritenuto necessario avanzare ulteriormente per tastare la confidenza e il grado di sopportazione dello stesso.
2) Durante l'allontanamento ho strisciato all'indietro (ero sempre in ginocchio) per oltre 2 metri. A quel punto, mi sono alzato lentamente, ho sollevato il treppiede e mi sono spostato ad una distanza di circa 8-9 metri, dove mi sono fermato a raccogliere lo zaino che avevo appoggiato a terra. Il succiacapre è rimasto al suo posto senza prendere il volo.
3) Anche se non ce ne sarà bisogno, per trasparenza e correttezza metto a disposizione dei moderatori di questo forum i file Raw per verificarne i camera data (exif) di questo e gli altri scatti effettuati.
Per concludere, ritengo non sia l'eccessiva vicinanza a disturbare un soggetto (se questa la si raggiunge nel modo corretto, nei tempi giusti e nell'assoluto silenzio). Si può fare più casino a 5-6 metri di distanza, rompendo un ramo secco o sfregando il treppiede contro un cespuglio...tutte cose che ho dovuto evitare di fare 
PS: per il fotoamatore che si è risentito di questo mio eccessivo avvicinamento:
"ipocrisia (da parte tua) a parte, secondo te, qual'è il comportamento che disturba di più il soggetto? Io che mi avvicino nell'assoluto silenzio o, tu, che ti fermi quotidianamente in auto (con motore acceso) a meno di 3 metri da dove riposa il succiacapre? Pensa ai tuoi di comportamenti, invece di sparare le prime minkiate che ti vengono in mente "
