, 1/500 f/5.6, ISO 400, hand held. NgoroNgoro, Tanzania. Specie: Crocuta crocuta

NgoroNgoro Crater (Tanzania) - ore 08.30 circa.

What about the scene was impressive to hear him complain Gnu with the three heads of hyenas in the belly has been hard to bear, especially for me at first safari, great shot Mark:-D:-D

Massimo

Beautiful image for a safari that Mark, from what I read, it was really unforgettable. Regarding the photos speak of a scene that you've taken great. A terrifying scene, with the wildebeest still alive that is pulled apart a little at a time since that death comes to him propitious (not to suffer anymore ....). Unfortunately, there is little to do, this is the Svana, give or take. Every living savannah must always be alert because there is always someone who wants to overpower you. A little 'as in our lives everyday. Congratulations again and now expect more pictures as beautiful as this. Greetings
Maximum

Great time and great pictures whose icing on the cake is the jackal in the background and not for weak stomach, among other things, to me the hyenas after the cats, like a lot but I still feel an enormous sympathy for the prey, any it is :-)

Thanks Massimo and Chiara to be stopped to comment in detail this picture, I really appreciate it very much!

Personally, I always cheer for predators, especially if cats, because they are few (compared to the prey) and must be protected by force .... it is true that, as others have said, in situations like this it is hard not to feel compassion and sympathy for the sacrificial victim ... but this is the cycle of life that Nature has decided to put in place and we have the privilege of being able to observe and document marco .. see you soon :-)
