La foto è stata realizzata a mano libera, in una posizione piuttosto scomoda (il mal di schiena c'è stato, ma ne è valsa la pena, a testa in giù, con un focus bracketing di 22 scatti. Nel cortile di casa ho una siepe che nel tempo è diventata un piccolo ecosistema: passerotti, ragni salticidi e mantidi. Le avevo viste nascere, grandi pochi millimetri. Le avevo persino tenute in mano. Poi, come spesso accade, sono sparite. Le ho cercate, aspettate, e a un certo punto avevo quasi rinunciato all'idea di riuscire a fotografarle da adulte.
