Il "Ponte di Porto" più noto è il Ponte Dom Luís I, un ponte ad arco in ferro lungo 385 metri e alto 85 metri che attraversa il fiume Douro nella città portoghese di Porto. Fu progettato dall'ingegnere belga Théophile Seyrig, allievo di Gustave Eiffel, e inaugurato nel 1886. Ha due livelli: il livello superiore è riservato ai pedoni e alla metropolitana, mentre quello inferiore è per il traffico ordinario e pedonale. Questo ponte collega Porto a Vila Nova de Gaia, celebre per le sue cantine vinicole, ed è uno dei simboli della città, offrendo viste panoramiche molto suggestive specialmente al tramonto.
