Caccia tenendosi vicinissimo al suolo,rasentando siepi e arbusti e cambiando repentinamente direzione x sorprendere la preda, sulla quale si lancia perpendicolarmente a gran velocità.Si nutre sia di uccelli che di piccoli mammiferi.
