La chiesa di Tratalias fu eretta attorno al 1200 in stile romanico pisano, e' cattedrale fino al 1500,dopodiché perse tale titolo a favore della cattedrale di Iglesias ,perdendo molti addobbi e reliquie a favore della nuova cattedrale.Tra queste la più famosa e' la statua lignea della Madonna di Monserrat che da allora ritorna alla sua sede originaria ogni anno per qualche giorno a Tratalias dando vita ad una festa e processione molto sentita dalle comunità locali.
