Gli Apatani vivono in genere in case costituite da un'alta palafitta che sorregge una piattaforma su cui è costruita la capanna. Generalmente al centro della capanna è posto il focolare domestico. Si nota in fondo alla capanna un maiale. Sono andata nel villaggio durante il Myoko festival , giorno in cui si celebra la fertilità e la prosperità , in cui ogni famiglia uccide un maiale. Sarà lo sciamano del villaggio , dopo che al maiale verrà estratto il fegato, che trarrà dalla "lettura" dell'organo gli auspici per quella famiglia
