at 34mm, 1/60 f/11.0, ISO 250, hand held. Auschwitz, Poland.

Excellent visual synecdoche (the detail to describe the whole). Beautiful shot and thought, Paolo.
Greetings.

Emblematic image and truly moving description.
I visited the Mauthausen camp many years ago, I still remember your own feelings of dismay, disbelief, helplessness in the face of so much horror.
May memory prevail over oblivion, dear Paul.
Greetings,
Roberto

The image is beautiful but also sad like your story,
stories to remember and not forget, I share the thought.

A small detail to remember an immense tragedy. Bravo Paolo, your caption is beautiful and I share. I thank you for publishing this work that has managed to distract me from that damned everyday life that almost always distances us from everything that has been.
Best regards
Eraldo.

Dear Paolo, good at remembering this day, unfortunately man never learns and genocides are repeated even today... :-(

Never forget... Only by visiting that camp can one understand the horrors of that period, infinite sadness. Hi Paul and congratulations.

I get chills just reading it. I like the shot with that bit of color and a lot of barbed wire. Let's not forget.... never!

Passed by a chimney.... And now I'm in the wind. You have caught a small detail, which manages to tell a terrible tragedy. Hi Paul.
