17 agosto 2023 il tredicesimo giorno del mio viaggio..; Oggi è il giorno della visita della bella cittadina di Odense, la città più importante dell'isola di Fyn conosciuta per il suo centro storico caratterizzato dalle casette colorate e a graticcio e per essere la città natale di H.C. Andersen e qui parla proprio tutto di lui. La città è visitabile seguendo le orme delle sue scarpe sulle strade con itinerari che seguono i luoghi per lui più cari. Così scriveva di lui Enzo Biagi nel suo libro sulla Scandinavia nel 1975 “Voglio diventare il primo romanziere di Danimarca; ho sete di gloria come l'avaro del tintinnio delle monete…” “Diventerà l'autore più letto al mondo, più di Verne di Goethe, di Shakespeare, di Marx: davanti a lui c'è soltanto la Bibbia. Venticinque volumi di favole, più di cinquecento storie fantastiche, lo imposero all'attenzione di tutti.” In Paaskestraede, la via più caratteristica di Odense in leggera salita, sembra quasi di vederselo passare accanto pensieroso e con la sua pipa in bocca; in realtà come potete vedere ci sono solo le orme delle su scarpe lungo la strada…ma la magia c'è tutta!
