Questo Crociato aveva tessuto la sua tela su uno dei sostegni metallici della bussola di ingresso della casa di campagna, a circa due mt di altezza. La piccolissima ape, rimasta impigliata nei fili, quanto più si agitava, tanto più si imprigionava nella tela. Poi il fulmineo balzo del ragno, il lungo morso alla preda e la ritirata. Cessati i movimenti, il Crociato si portava ancora sulla vittima ed iniziava a roteare intorno ad essa per il rito dell'imbalsamazione. Rientrato a prendere gli accrocchi fotografici, montavo su una pedana e sparavo a raffica, una dopo l'altra, una lunga serie di f.s, ognuna di 4 scatti a mano libera, nei rari momenti di pausa del predatore . Avrò cestinato, alla fine, qualche centinaia di scatti, imprecando contro l'insufficiente altezza del mio treppiedi. Il Sigma 105 macro è stato affiancato dal Raynox 250.
