Vestito tradizionale di Oliena - Credere che il vestito tradizionale sardo sia un mero ricordo della tradizione da conservarsi nel baule delle nostalgie e da esibire in occasione degli eventi folcloristici sarebbe un modo semplicistico di interpretare la realtà di un' espressione ancora viva dell' abbigliamento della popolazione sarda. Non è più tanto comune, è vero, vedere per le strade dei paesi della Sardegna uomini e donne che vestano giornalmente gli antichi abiti tradizionali sardi locali, ma non è neanche tanto raro: a Busachi, a Orgosolo ma in moltissimi centri isolani ancora la tradizione è viva se pure limitata a momenti determinati come "la messa della Domenica" o la festa del paese. La voglia di non perdere le radici, comunque, c'è e si vede e anzi è in aumento. E' sufficiente osservare con quanta cura ancora oggi giovani e anziani colgano il pretesto di una festa popolare o di una manifestazione folcloristica per partecipare con entusiasmo indossando i colori delle loro radici. Si, perchè proprio di questo si tratta. Il vestito tradizionale sardo rappresenta il carattere profondo di un antico modo di vestire degli abitanti delle diverse comunità il quale, oltre che comunicare la provenienza di chi lo indossa, secondo le caratteristiche particolari di ogni paese, ne rivela l' estrazione e lo stato sociale. Ogni vestito è un pezzo a se, con peculiarità, colori e forme che seguono regole comuni nel disegno e differiscono nelle particolarità: costumi per uomini e per donne, per le feste e per tutti i giorni, per i ricchi e per i poveri, per i pastori e per i pescatori, per le donne sposate, per le nubili e per le vedove. Il vestito tradizionale sardo è, comunque, sempre arricchito da preziosi ricami e rifiniture spesso accompagnati da gioielli che ben si adattano in un sapiente accostamento dei colori.
