Imperia,Ciminiera ferriere,oggi 2 Marzo 2023 è il giorno della demolizione della storica ciminiera delle ferriere, (ANSA) - IMPERIA, 02 MAR - Sono partire stamani le operazioni di demolizione di una delle tre ciminiere delle ex Ferriere, quella centrale, ridotta in condizioni più critiche, simbolo del passato industriale di Imperia. Il primo colpo di "pinza" è stato dato verso le 8. L'abbattimento avrebbe dovuto iniziare, lo scorso 28 febbraio, ma è stato sospeso per via del vento. La ciminiera è alta 76 metri ed è piena di crepe. La demolizione avviene tramite una grossa pinza meccanica sollevata con un'autogru che serve per schiacciare piccole porzioni della torre, che vengono poi fatte cadere in sicurezza. Le ciminiere sono il simbolo di una epoca industriale finita. C'è stata polemica in passato sull'abbattimento da parte di comitati di cittadini che chiedevano di mantenerla in piedi. Nell'area potrebbero sorgere una zona commerciale con attività di ristorazione. (ANSA). E' stata fatta nel 1925 Il sito siderurgico a Imperia c'era sin dal 1900. Queste ciminiere , con questo sito è stato realizzato nel 1918 ed è stato chiuso nel 1930. Hanno lavorato 12 anni.Da Imperiese dispiace vederla abbattere fin da bambino ero abituato a vederla,ma ho visto che era veramente malandata,dicono che è presente sulle carte nautiche come punto di riferimento per le navi,lo skyline di Oneglia ora non sarà più lo stesso
