Sono rientrato da pochi giorni da un trekking nella giungla di Sumatra, in Indonesia, organizzato nella speranza di vedere da vicino e fotografare una delle creature al mondo più simili a noi, gli Oranghi (il termine Orango è l'abbreviazione della parola Orangutan che in malese significa Uomo della Foresta..). Questo viaggio era inizialmente previsto per marzo 2020, era tutto organizzato, tutto pronto (anche valigia e zaino) ma tre giorni prima della partenza abbiamo dovuto purtroppo rinunciare per i noti motivi sanitari. Finalmente, pur con alcune difficoltà e perdendo per vari motivi qualche compagno per strada, siamo riusciti a ripianificare tutto e partire, solo in due, io e Alessandro, grande amico e come sempre splendido compagno di viaggio. Non è retorica ma è stata davvero un'esperienza indimenticabile.. certo faticosa e impegnativa (il caldo umido, la pioggia, il fango, le sanguisughe, gli insetti .. non hanno aiutato) ma poter interagire con questi animali, osservarne gli sguardi, gli atteggiamenti .. e poterne davvero apprezzare la stretta vicinanza all'uomo ci ha ripagato di tutte le difficoltà. Abbiamo avuto la fortuna di osservare il maschio dominante diverse volte e siamo stati a contatto con alcune madri e i loro cuccioli. Non sono poi mancati gli incontri molto ravvicinati anche con alcuni varani e altre scimmie, tra cui il presbite di Thomas ed il macaco cinomolgo. Il viaggio è stata anche l'occasione per provare sul campo la mia nuova Z9.. una bomba! #wild
