Bamberg, Oberfranken (Alta Franconia) ... agosto 2015 ... Edificata su sette diversi colli e adagiata sulle rive del fiume Regnitz, quasi alla confluenza col Meno, l'antichissima città imperiale di Bamberg è conosciuta in Germania come la "Roma della Baviera" ed è stata dichiarata Patrimonio dell'Umanità UNESCO nel 1993. Colpita solo in parte dalle devastazioni del secondo conflitto mondiale la città possiede il centro storico più esteso e meglio conservato di tutto il territorio tedesco, con un vastissimo patrimonio artistico ed architettonico che spazia dall'epoca medioevale a quella barocca. L'Altes Rathaus, il vecchio municipio, costituisce la principale attrazione di Bamberga: costruito sul letto del Regnitz e collegato alle sponde da due diversi ponti, appare al visitatore come una sorta di isola artificiale ...
