Gray breasted mountain toucan. Tucano raro di montagna (Status Vulnerabile). Prima immagine di una spedizione nelle Ande colombiane che mi ha riservato moltissime soddisfazioni. Dopo quattro anni di assenza dalla Colombia l'impressione positiva del tentativo della gente del posto di iniziare a tutelare e valorizzare il loro immenso patrimonio naturale, anche cogliendo gli aspetti positivi economici legati al turismo. Anche la sicurezza del paese è enormemente migliorata (molte delle montagne che ho frequentato in questa spedizione una decina di anni fa erano inaccessibili per la presenza delle FARC e altre organizzazioni) Naturalmente permangono i problemi ambientali dovuti al disboscamento (l'allevamento del bestiame richiede terre e spazio) e al riscaldamento globale. Spero che le foto che aggiungerò nella galleria siano di interesse e rendano l'idea della bellezza dei posti e della fauna colombiana. (Dip Caldas, esordio della specie nel forum)
