Il lago di Dévero è un bacino artificiale realizzato mediante una diga la cui costruzione è iniziata nel 1908 e terminata nel 1924. Nel lago confluiscono il rio d'Arbola e altri piccoli torrenti che in tempi non tanto passati hanno determinato l'innalzamento del livello del lago al punto tale da rendere necessario creare un ulteriore sbarramento con la diga della Forcoletta (unica diga in Val D'Ossola ad essere realizzata con strati di terra costipati). Oggi, a causa della siccità imperante, la portata del lago si è ridotta alquanto ma lo scenario che si può godere lungo le sue sponde resta sempre di grande bellezza! Chissà per quanto però…….
