Un luogo che conoscevo in foto e che ho ritrovato casualmente.
Fa parte del parco fluviale dell'Alcantara.
Un sentiero che va da Castiglione di Sicilia a Francavilla di Sicilia costeggia il fiume ed offre visione delle Gurne, ma anche di monumenti come il castello di Francavilla o la Cuba Bizantina di Castiglione. Le Gurne sono 16 piccoli laghetti tra le rocce
Il sentiero è abbastanza pianeggiante e lungo circa un chilometro e mezzo, percorribile quindi in un paio di ore, più le soste fotografiche. La zona da me fotografata è raggiungibile in auto parcheggiando subito vicino al ponte sul quale la strada Castiglione-Francavilla attraversa il fiume.
Se dovessi decidere per un una gita, fammi sapere. Sono disponibile ad ulteriori informazioni e magari andarci insieme

Meta turistica da molti anni, lo si raggiunge facilmente da Catania, Messina o dalla vicina Taormina con pullman che vi riversano folle di turisti.
