La Porta di tutte le Nazioni o Porta di Serse si trova tra le rovine dell'antica città di Persepoli, in Iran. La costruzione della Scalinata delle nazioni e della Porta di tutte le Nazioni venne ordinata dal re Achemenide Serse I, successore del fondatore di Persepoli, Dario il Grande, per monumentalizzare l'entrata della città. È l'unica delle tre porte di Persepoli rimasta. Persepoli è il nome greco di uno dei principali complessi architettonici della dinastia achemenide (il nome iranico era Parsa), a N dell'odierna Shiraz. Fu il principale centro amministrativo del Fars, culla della civiltà persiana, e soprattutto il luogo più emblematico del potere dei 'Re dei Re', destinato alle cerimonie più rappresentative e alla custodia dei tesori di maggiore importanza per la dinastia. Fondata da Dario I (518 a.C.), fu ampliata dai suoi successori, fino ad Artaserse III (metà 4° sec. a.C.); data alle fiamme dai Macedoni, continuò comunque a essere abitata ed ebbe ancora importanza sotto i Sasanidi. I resti grandiosi dei palazzi reali, della tesoreria, delle strutture amministrative, di servizio e residenziali sorgono su una vasta terrazza rettangolare. Le costruzioni, in parte fondate sulla roccia viva, avevano pareti in cotto, stipiti e porte in pietra tagliata ed erano decorate da splendidi rilievi. Si conservano inoltre tre tombe reali degli ultimi Achemenidi, scavate nella roccia. Nel 1979 è stato dichiarato dall'Unesco Patrimonio dell'Umanità.
