Secondo un'altra leggenda, invece, tanto tempo fa nelle acque argentate di un lago viveva una Ninfa, talmente bella che, appena la vide, Raggio di Sole se ne innamorò. Raggio di sole era splendente nel suo abito d'oro e la Ninfa ebbe vergogna del suo semplice vestito, così decise di andare in fondo al lago, ove sapeva si custodiva un tesoro. Appena lo ebbe trovato, felice si riempì le mani di gioielli ma il peso di questi le impediva di tornare in superficie cosicché venne trascinata e sommersa dal fondo melmoso del lago. Di lei rimasero solo le sue candide mani, col loro tesoro. Povero Raggio di Sole, inutilmente cercò la sua Ninfa. Tutto ciò che riuscì a vedere era una foglia con la forma di un cuore, i cui fiori bianchi avevano all'interno lo stesso splendore dell'oro e , in tutta la loro bellezza, si donavano al suo sguardo. La ninfa era diventata un fiore che, a guardarlo, ci commuove quasi per la sua bellezza.
