#chiese #romanico #architetturaRomanica

Thanks Ciriaco. The interior is very interesting, with carved capitals but the most surprising thing is perhaps the south side on the outside.

The "fan" of the Romanesque could not escape such a building. Beautiful photo and excellent caption. I note that the construction is made of sandstone, easy to work with and widely used at the time. It seems strange to me to observe how the stone is still in an excellent state of preservation; I make the comparison with the church of San Michele in Pavia that. although older than three centuries, in the last 50 years it has collapsed in an incredible way (now they are restoring it).
A pleasure to admire and read, congratulations.

Thanks Paul. We should see how much Cortazzone has been restored. The sculptures, however, I think are original. In S. Michele perhaps pollution has also affected. Cortazzone is isolated. In Burgundy there is a lot of well-preserved sandstone sculpture, there the damage and mutilations were intentionally inflicted by men.

Yes, I fully agree with your diagnosis. Last month I passed through Burgundy and happened by chance in Jaligny sur Bresbe that I did not know; a beautiful castle, a lot of history and a beautiful Romanesque church (but I think you already know it)

I have never been there, two years ago I photographed in Neuilly-en-Donjon which is about twenty minutes from Jaligny. I saw the photos of the castle, really nice.

A detailed and interesting description in the caption, the Masters of the past knew how to impress the faithful, between architecture and paintings, works of art from the first stone to the last brushstroke.
Congratulations, great job.
