La Maserati 150 fu costruita tra il 1955 ed il 1957 in 25 esemplari... di cui 24 in versione Barchetta come questa visibile nella fotografia... ed uno solo in versione Graturismo. Era stata progettata per ospitare un motore con 4 cilindri in linea di 1484 cm3 erogante 140 Cv ma su diversi esemplari venne invece montato il motore della Maserati 200 S... un 4 cilindri in linea di 1994 cm3 che erogando 187 CV portava la vettura a sfiorare i 200 chilometri orari di velocità massima... questo per poter competere nella classe 2000 cm3. Essendo una vettura venduta anche a conduttori privati uno dei primi esemplari fu acquistato dall'allora pilota... e poi futuro imprenditore e costruttore argentino di origini italiane... Alejandro (detto anche Alessandro) de Tomaso. Il valore di una 150 S nel mercato collezionistico supera abbondantemente il milione e mezzo di euro. La vettura qui visibile gareggiò... con il numero di gara 433... nella 1000 Miglia partita nella notte di sabato 28 aprile 1956 con alla guida il pilota francese Jean Behra che si classificò al 20° posto dopo aver coperto i 1597 chilometri del percorso in 13 ore e 34 minuti. Nato nel 1921 aveva iniziato a gareggiare nel motociclismo per poi passare alle auto. Perse la vita sul circuito dell'Avus, in Germania, nel 1959.
