San Fele è un comune di circa 3000 abitanti, si trova nella provincia di Potenza a 864 metri di altitudine. Le case sono arroccate in una valle circondata da due monti: il monte Castello aspro e sassoso e il monte Torretta. Storicamente proviene dal Feudo che ricadeva nella Valle di Vitalba. Il nome originario era Santo Felice, con gli anni è passato da Santo Fele a San Fele. L'economia si basa prettamente sull'agricoltura e su un piccolo turismo rurale. Qui nacque San Giustino de Jacobis ed inoltre è presente uno dei più antichi e misteriosi santuari della Basilicata: Santa Maria di Pierno. All rights reserved.
