Febbraio: terza crociera della sottoscritta in Egitto, un viaggio che mi affascina e che ripeterò appena possibile. Fatta colazione in nave, si parte con Naghi (la nostra guida) per la visita al tempio di Edfu. Finalmente una temperatura ideale per visitare l'Egitto. Sul lungo fiume di Luxor, corsa alle carrozzelle che ci trasporteranno fino ai Tempio. Traffico sostenuto, strada polverosa, cavalli magri che al solo vederli, ti commuovono. Tragitto di circa una ventina di minuti, il sole è già alto nel cielo, è tutto un brulicare di voci, persone, urla dei conducenti, poi di colpo il silenzio: siamo di fronte all'imponenza e alla maestosità del Tempio, uno dei meglio conservati, il più importante dopo quello di Karnak. Una lunga visita che guadagna molti punti alla nostra guida che, si rivela preparatissima, usciti dal tempio, tutti si riversano verso il mercatino locale dove purtroppo i mercanti arabi sono veramente troppo “insistenti”. Bevo un karkadé, mi allontano di pochi metri, e vengo immediatamente catturata da questo asinello che buono, buono si gode la sua pausa di tepore e ristoro. Mi fa tenerezza, mi avvicino, lo accarezzo, i suoi occhi un po' umidi e buoni mi guardano, e ho l'impressione di leggere in quello sguardo “gratitudine” per quelle carezze di cui forse non ha mai conosciuto la dolcezza.
