Chiesa della Sainte-Trinité La chiesa della Santissima Trinità è una chiesa parigina che sorge nel IX arrondissement. Domina la place d' Estienne-d' Orves da cui parte la rue de la Chaussée-d' Antin. Il progetto è dell'architetto Théodore Ballu su commissione del Barone Haussmann nell'ambito dei lavori per la trasformazione di Parigi sotto il Secondo Impero. A dispetto del lusso dei suoi decori e della sua imponenza, la sua costruzione non costa più di quattromila milioni di franchi dell'epoca, una cifra piuttosto contenuta. Probabilmente l'economia della costruzione, si deve come per l'altra chiesa parigina di Saint-Augustin, all'uso massiccio di pilastri in ghisa e in ferro. Risultato, un edificio maestoso ed imponente che bisogna però ricoprire. Ed ecco l'idea di ricorrere per la Santissima Trinità, diversamente che per Saint-Augustin, all'uso di nicchie e decori che, realizzano una facciata di stile vagamente rinascimentale. La chiesa, come accennato sopra, sorge a coronamento di una piccola piazza, opera di Jean-Charles Alphand. La facciata si ispira al Rinascimento italiano, con delle nicchie che riprendono quelle della Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano. Le statue e i decori illustrano i misteri della Trinità e i Padri della Chiesa che ne hanno difeso il dogma. Nella parte superiore della facciata sono rappresentate le quattro virtù cardinali mentre ai quattro lati del beffroi, ispirato al Rinascimento francese, sono raffigurati i simboli dei quattro evangelisti. ----------------------------------- Grazie di cuore, come sempre, agli amici che visiteranno e commenteranno questa foto.
