An image that takes us back in history , with these tragic events and violent clashes , which took place in these mountain areas, with the sacrifice of thousands of young people for the defense of their territory.
Loris for remembering these sacrifices of human lives.
Also tops the in-depth caption that perfectly tells the story.
Tanti greetings from MArio.

Hi Loris, thank you again for the photo and didascalic document you gave us. Congratulations, beautiful and very important for all of us. Mount Piana represents perhaps more than any other place not only the ferocity of the war (in addition to the Col di Lana also called Col di Sangue I would remember the Lagazuoi with the Sass de Stria and the Val Travenanzes) but a little the synthesis of the First World War; for the first time a war of position with, at least the Italian front, incompetent commanders, inept and stuck to the dictates of previous conflicts. (see for example Cadorna and General Nava commander of the 4th C.A. fighting in the area). Hello. Mario.

Hi Mario, with immense pleasure I thank you for your visit and detailed account of the places where the battles in the Dolomites fought with great ferocity, the short holiday period did not allow me, the excursion to Lagazuoi was another destination that I had set myself but five days with two bad weather turned out too few.
I visited for the centenary Bassano del Grappa and Mount Grappa over time I will try to make a photographic history ;-)
Thane again for the interest shown and compliments expressed, if I have come to propose eight stories / photographs it is also thanks to all of you :-P your analysis on italian commands is excellent and shareable.
A dear greeting Loris
