Questo minuscolo primate, che sta tranquillamente nel palmo di una mano, vive in gruppi piuttosto numerosi, fino a una quindicina di individui, e popola le alte cime degli alberi dove trascorre la maggior parte del tempo in cerca di cibo. È onnivora, quindi si nutre di alimenti di ogni genere, dalla frutta agli insetti, dai germogli ai più piccoli animali della foresta, ed è particolarmente “golosa” della linfa degli alberi che succhia praticando centinaia di fori con i denti lungo il tronco.
