Attack on the "Three Sisters" sent on November 18, 2020 (9:13) by Lorisb. 73 comments, 1778 views. [retina]

, 1/1250 f/7.1, ISO 100, hand held. Monte Piana, Italy.

A contrasted BN that makes these magical peaks even more imperious, but they saw so much unnecessary suffering :-P

Great shot and caption a beautiful story that makes us relive so as not to forget the terrible
moments of war, with the hope that they will never repeat themselves again.
Congratulations Loris for the excellent recovery greetings Justin.

The photo is very beautiful, but the attached story is even more interesting. The Dolomite and Eastern Trentino fronts are littered with these sad testimonies. A situation similar to the one you mentioned can be observed in the Asiago plateau under the top Ortigara theater of bloody battles. At the base the ground is completely littered with rocks due to the crushing of thousands and thousands of explosions. Human idiocy has no limits.
bye gios ;-)

Gios thank you for finding interesting the story I described and beautiful photography, for me it is very important I tried to make such a description mixing words and image to describe these places of memory and sad testimonies, I thank you for the attention and for bringing to know the sad place that you described with tragic similarity and unfortunately it will not be the only one similar. As for human idiocy since the end of that tragic war, too many of the useless wars have been waged :-(
A Greeting Loris
