"AUGURI DI BUON NATALE E SERENO ANNO NUOVO A TUTTI GLI AMICI JUZZINI" Grotta della Natività del Presepe monumentale a Cava de' Tirreni. Ecco, il presepe monumentale a Cava de' Tirreni è così, davvero bello, grandissimo e pieno di particolari. A Cava è possibile visitarlo nel Santuario di San Francesco e Sant'Antonio: esso copre una superficie oltre 1000 metri quadrati ed è tradizionalmente allestito al primo piano di un'ala del convento. Il presepe permanente è visitabile fino al giorno dell'Epifania e per tutto l'anno a richiesta. Si susseguono le scenografie del presepe settecentesco napoletano e orientale, con i musici mori, i cavalli e il corteo dei re Magi. Particolarmente suggestiva è la riproduzione della Grotta della Natività della Basilica della Natività di Betlemme. L'allestimento del presepe è curato dai frati del convento cavese rivolgendo un pensiero alla tradizione francescana di Greccio. Nel corso del tempo la collezione di pastori e animali databili al Settecento e Ottocento, si è arricchita di opere pregevoli con pezzi del Settecento ed Ottocento. Il terremoto del 1980 coinvolse la navata dove era allestito il presepe, molti pastori si salvarono dal crollo parziale della chiesa e si possono ammirare ancora oggi. Le scale strette e ripide portano ad un vasto ambiente diviso in due da grandi pareti di legno, dove sono allestiti e rappresentati vari momenti di vita di quell'epoca. Di pregevole fattura le statuine del Settecento e dell'Ottocento, tra cui le statuine del famoso scultore cavese Alfonso Balzico, e di particolare bellezza è l'ottocentesco corteo dei Re Magi, con i musici mori e i grandi cavalli a grandezza maggiore delle altre statuine come per mettere in evidenza la magnificenza delle loro vesti e la loro importanza. Sicuramente se vi trovate a passeggiare per Cava de' Tirreni non potrà mancare una visita al presepe monumentale del santuario francescano, davvero imperdibile e spettacolare. All rights reserved.
