Nonostante siano poco conosciute, le cascate di Stroppia – che nascono nella valle di origine glaciale del Vallonasso di Stroppia – compiono un salto di quasi 500 metri, meritandosi di diritto il primato di cascate più alte d'Italia. Raggiungono la Valle Maira, confluiscono nelle acque del torrente omonimo, e raggiungono il pieno della loro bellezza in tarda primavera. Per poi “scomparire” in estate, quando il livello del lago Niera (sovrastante) si abbassa.
