Si sa, i proverbi vanno sempre "presi con le pinze", ma molte volte ci azzeccano. I giorni della Merla sono i più freddi dell'anno? Non ci sono conferme scientifiche di questa credenza popolare, ma nel 2019 potrebbe essere davvero così. Quest'anno, infatti, per il 29, 30 e 31 gennaio le previsioni meteo parlano di un'ondata di gelo, maltempo e neve in arrivo dal Nord Europa. Evidentemente qualcuno ha fatto arrabbiare Gennaio e il primo mese dell'anno adesso cerca la sua vendetta. Che significa? Ecco spiegata la leggenda dei Giorni della Merla. Perché i giorni della Merla sono i più freddi dell'anno? Il motivo di tutto ciò è da ricercarsi in una famosa leggenda. Molti anni fa - così si dice ? una merla si vantava di avere delle belle piume bianche e candide come la neve. Poiché il tanto temuto freddo del primo mese dell'anno non si era ancora fatto vivo, la merla iniziò a prendersi gioco di Gennaio. Allora il mese si arrabbiò e decise di chiedere tre giorni in prestito a febbraio (all'epoca gennaio durava 28 giorni) per far abbattere sulla Terra un'ondata di freddo e gelo. E così, con l'arrivo della bufera di neve, la merla cercò riparo in un caminetto. Alla fine riuscì a salvarsi dal gelido e arrabbiatissimo mese di Gennaio, ma le sue piume diventarono nere nere. Un'altra credenza accompagna questo periodo dell'anno: se i giorni della Merla sono freddi, si dice che la primavera sarà bella; se invece sono caldi, la primavera arriverà in ritardo. Quest'anno, se le previsioni meteo di fine gennaio dovessero trovare conferma, avremo "sicuramente" - per così dire - una bella primavera calda.
